Situated on a private island in the middle of the Saône, the Suites de l'Ile Barbe are set in the heart of the remains of a former abbey.
This privileged setting is a case of calm and gentleness surrounded by a private park of 3000 m2, home to century-old trees and many animals (chickadees, falcons, peacocks, squirrels, ...), all only 10 minutes from downtown Lyon.

Bright and spacious, all our suites have been completely renovated with the finest materials. The interior designer Jorge Grasso has created a modern, elegant and unique style while highlighting the history of the place.

Our family has lived on the property since 1891 and we will be happy to share with you our good addresses and favorites.
The origins
The establishment is located on the remains of the former abbey church of Saint Martin - Saint Loup, where a crypt and the 'chapter house' where the monks of Ile Barbe used to meet are still preserved. Founded in the 3rd century, the ancient abbey became in the 16th century dependent on the chapter of the canons counts of Lyon, then was finally sold and dispersed after the Revolution.
